GEORGE JOHNSON​

BIO:​​​

Coach  Johnson attended Mt. Diablo High School (Concord, CA) graduating class of 1990.  As a junior he was the team captain, averaged 14.9 points per game and honored as an All D.F.A.L. and All City selection.  As a senior, George was one of the top east bay area scoring leaders averaging 20.2 points per game. He was honored as a 1st team All D.F.A.L. and 1st team All City selection, as well as a S.F. Chronicle All-Bay Area team player.
 

He received a college basketball scholarship from Hall of Fame Coach Danny Miles to play for the Oregon Tech Hustlin’ Owls (NAIA school - Klamath Falls, Oregon).  George played for 2 years under Coach Miles before transferring and finishing out his playing career for the California State University, Hayward Pioneers, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.  
 

Coach George ran his own AAU program (Diablo Valley Youth Basketball Academy) for 3 years and has coached CYO for 10 +  years where his Good Shepard Church teams won the Oakland Diocese Championship 3 times.  He served 1 year as a varsity assistant at Mt. Diablo High and worked with various other bay area organizations/camps including:   Excel Basketball Camp, Slam n Jams Hot Prospect Camp, Northern California’s Super 100 Camp, MVP Flight Organization, Adidas Jr. Phenom Regional Camp, Team Arsenal AAU & Triple Threat Academy.

ANDREW CONES​

BIO:

Coach Cones, a former player for the Diablo Valley Youth Basketball Academy is currently the girls Varsity basketball coach at Pittsburg High School.  He won the BVAL Coach of the Year honor for the 2025-2026 season.  He served as an assistant coach for Los Medanos College Mens basketball for 3 years.

Coach Cones was an All BVAL player for Antioch High School.  He attended Los Medanos College then finished his playing career at Humboldt State University.
